Exhaustion
May. 29th, 2009 03:38 pmSo, I've just spent the past three hours going through my entire music library with the MusicBrainz Picard, an open source desktop tool written in Python that scans music files and checks the tags against the MusicBrainz database. Everything I actually listen to had already been done previously, but I've never actually gone through my entire library before.
I still haven't actually done it all; there are a few things which need further investigation into, (MusicBrainz isn't always accurate, so I double check things manually against both Wikipedia and Discogs.com) but I'm now the closest to having a perfectly tagged music library than I've ever been before.
What makes the whole process even more annoying is that since I've passed the download quota at home, I've had to do all this at my uni, using the on-campus wireless internet they supply. I'm probably going to go home now, and I'm pretty tired. -_-
